Mini Babybel Light Cheese Review

In search of a convenient, high protein, low calorie snack?  Babybel cheese bites are fit the criteria with only 50 calories, 6 grams of protein, and 3 grams of fat.  Yes I know, 6 grams of protein will not be enough but should you have 2 or 3 pieces you will come close.  I often will have three bite sizes pieces with a few crackers and a scoop of whey protein mixed in water.

My favorite feature is that each piece is individually packaged within waxed casing.  If you are on the go I suspect babybel cheese will be safe for a few hours away from the refrigerator.

Horizon Organic Low Fat Cottage Cheese Review

My experience has revealed a lack of popularity for cottage cheese but if you are among those who can stomach it then I recomend you incorporate it in your high protein snacks list.  With an extremely low calorie count this particular brand of cottage cheese is nearly all protein and given you will need 200-400 calories on average for every meal you can have a few crackers as well.

Cliff Bar Review

A good protein bar is a rare find.  In fact I have not found one I can absolutely love but there are a few I like and the Blueberry Crisp is one.  I will often eat it with the plain Greek yogurt I don’t like but eat because it serves its purpose.  I mix it with the Greek yogurt because if you look at the nutrition label you will notice it has a fair amount of protein but not enough and I recommend you do the same.

Fage Review

If you are seeking a high protein, low calorie snack then look no further! Greek yogurt is a must have; however if you purchase the 0% without flavor you may not be satisfied with the taste.  I too was initially turned off by its bland flavor that slightly represented a similar texture and tast as sour cream but since I pressured my clients to eat it I felt compelled to practice what I preached.  In time I found it manageable and somewhat appealing.

Tast Tips:

  • This isn’t much help but keep your goal in mind.  Goal oriented people succeed and those who are submissive to temptation do not.  Just eat it!
  • You need carbs with every meal; however Fage Total 0% has only 9.  Try eating your favorite bar with every bite.  After all you likely need 200-400 calories in every meal and this particular item only consist of 120 calories.  I like cliff bars. How many carbs should I have each meal?
  • Mix 1/2 too a whole serving of granola into the yogurt
  • Purchase a flavored version of Fage.  I don’t like recommending this because it consist of syrups which are unnecessary and add 20 grams of sugar.
